What is RTA Label?

RTA Label is an important part of our system, allowing us to offer an adult content service while protecting children from seeing content they shouldn’t.

RTA stands for Restricted To Adults, and is a service created by the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP).

It was designed to better enable parental filtering on adult websites, and to demonstrate the adult industry’s commitment to helping parents prevent children from viewing age-inappropriate content.

The label is used to rate adult sites across the internet, from independent performer sites all the way to giants like Pornhub.

How it Works

The RTA Label consists of a small piece of code included on each page. This code can be read by browsers and devices with age restrictions active, as well as third party parental control software.

Depending on their settings, the page can then be intercepted with warnings or simply blocked from loading.

Despite the POR.Nz website itself not containing explicit adult content, we still class the service as for use by adults only, and therefore every page is labeled.

The RTA label code is also present when a short link is clicked. Both free links which redirect via an interstitial page and premium links are rated.

This means links will be intercepted before they redirect for those with age restrictions switched on.

POR.Nz is the only URL shortener in the world which uses the RTA label system to prevent children from viewing adult content.
